The first thing to consider when assembling your own computer is the case. It is very important to choose the right case according to the user's needs.
The user of the computers should determine what the computer will be used for. When buying a computer case, you should consider the ease of use, the upgrade facilities and the cooling options. These 3 things are very important.
If you consider to upgrade or to change computer hardware often, then look for easy to use cases. An example is a motherboard tray. It uses more space but it will make your life easier.
Also very important are the upgrade possibilities. Computers, especially home computers are used by different people with different uses of the computer. Computer games change constantly and require always more powerful video and sound cards. Having the possibility to ad this hardware is a lot cheaper and easier than having to buy a new case.
It's logic that the use of more powerful hardware requires more powerful cooling. Today's computer cases are often equipped with a cooling system.
Cases for computers come in different sizes. The most common case is the mid-tower case. This one is used by most home and work computers. They're big enough to accept several disk drives, 2 hard disks, floppy drives etc …
More and more small computer cases find their ways in homes or offices. They are smaller than a ring map and don't take a lot of space, but they haven't space for more than the basic hardware.
A last type of case is the tower. This one is used by companies with big servers, like for example banks and hosting providers.
